About the role
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple's Surgical Trauma ICU (STICU) is a 19-bed unit focusing on critically ill trauma and complex surgical patients. It is located within the region's only Level I Trauma Center and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide advanced critical care using leading-edge technology and evidence-based practices.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and communicate a clear vision for nursing practices within your area of responsibility.
- Involv supervisory and other staff in setting and accomplishing departmental goals.
- Continually update your knowledge base with the latest evidence-backed clinical and leadership practices.
- Foster a healing and supportive environment for patients, families, and fellow staff members.
- Recognize development needs and facilitate educational opportunities for staff members.
- Set a positive example of professionalism within the nursing field and work atmosphere.
- Incorporate the organization's mission and goals into strategies for staff and patient care.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of three years' professional experience is required for this role.
- RN license.
- Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days on the job.

- Quality care, patient focus, and ethical practices are crucial.
- Decision-making, resource management, and ethics are important skills.
