About the role

Responsible for leading the verification process for medical staff incumbents. Completes physician, nurse practitioner and other provider verifications and ensures compliance with staff by-laws, industry trends and standard credentialing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Completes physician, nurse practitioner and other provider verifications
• Ensures compliance with staff by-laws, industry trends and standard credentialing procedures
• May complete administrative duties such as ensuring state medical licenses are up-to-date and checking the status on new license applications
• Leads and directs the work of others
• Facilitates correspondences to high-level professionals including physicians
• Accurately prepares memos and reports for Medical Executive Committee
• Extensive experience with Excel spreadsheets and databases

Requirements

• Education: Associates Degree in healthcare related field required. Bachelor's degree in area of specialty preferred
• Experience: 1-2 years (5 years preferred) previous credentialing experience required
• Working knowledge of MD Staff Credentialing software
• High level of communication skills to speak with physicians

Qualifications

• Credentialing Specialist certification (CPCS) preferred
