Mgr Master Data Management & Agreements

About The Role
We are seeking a Manager of Master Data Management and Agreements at our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO. Reporting to the Director of Procure to Pay, this position will lead the PBS Center of Excellence (COE) responsible for global Master Data Management (MDM) and Outline Agreement (OA) Administration. The Manager will oversee a team of both employee and outsourced resources.
MDM responsibilities include the setup and maintenance of Material and Vendor data within Peabody’s SAP environment, as well as oversight of Master Performance Agreements for suppliers providing on-site services. OA responsibilities include setup and maintenance of the company’s structured agreements with its suppliers, along with delivering analyses on these agreements.
The salary range for this position is $123,000 - $160,000 annually.
Responsibilities
- Work with PBS’s chosen lead outsourcer to deliver MDM and OA services.
- Ensure the service provider performs according to the Service Level Agreement.
- Leverage service providers for resources and ideas.
- Coach the team (employee and outsourced) to meet or exceed service level expectations from customers and stakeholders.
- As the Subject Matter Expert, continue to improve processes and/or technology to deliver services through transformation and automation.
- Develop and expand the capabilities of team members.
- Assess and recommend necessary change management or training needed for end-users company-wide.
- Ensure documentation is maintained with the outsourcer, including versioning, educating the team, and collaborating with Governance on potential change control matters.
- Responsible for the catalog management process in SAP, including both materials and vendors.
- Manage the vendor management process in SAP, including vendor adds, vendor qualification, Master Data Agreements, and SAP agreement management.
- Develop Master Data procedures, work instructions, and standards to conform to guidelines for the Center of Excellence.
- Develop and train the Master Data Management team on processes, create training documentation for onboarding, and maintain an ongoing training program.
- Ensure strict compliance with the company’s Master Performance Agreement and Insurance Certification requirements.
- Assure implementation, use, and compliance with the terms and conditions of global, national, and regional SAP purchasing agreements.
- Ensure delivery of strategic goals and implementation timelines for Shared Services initiatives, KPIs, and SLAs.
- Deliver robust customer service and relationship management, including problem-solving, issues escalation management, and identifying opportunities.
- Advocate PBS' Vision, Plan, and Values.
- Continuously support/lead process improvement and implementation of new business processes.
- Analyze data to provide meaningful insight and recommendations to leadership.
- Data mine with the ability to sanitize and rationalize data.
- Actively contribute to shared services governance reporting, analysis, remediation, and projects.
- Work with and supervise the performance of third-party relationships.
- Oversee logging and tracking of issues and drive toward resolution, facilitating regular and formal meetings on performance and quality activities.
- Work with all direct reports on annual goals, performance appraisals, and reviews.
Schedule
This is a full-time role working Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST. Peabody offers flexible work policies, including hybrid office/home working arrangements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.

- A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience, including customer service with supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of SAP (S/4, Ariba, Fieldglass) with a solid understanding of catalog, vendor, and outline agreement management.
- Experience with software tools (e.g., Microsoft Tools, particularly Excel, MS Forms, SharePoint, Power BI) with a willingness to learn new systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform office-related tasks, which may include prolonged sitting or standing.
- Ability to move from place to place within an office environment.
- May require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Ability to accommodate Australia work hours as needed.
- Ability to travel to remote mining operations and supplier locations on a limited basis, as needed.
