About the role
This role offers the opportunity to work on groundbreaking software technologies, playing a crucial role in envisioning solutions that fill existing gaps. You will manage the success of the software development life cycle, including resource management, software development process management, and project and quality management. You will provide technical leadership and direction, influencing the overall success of varied cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage and provide leadership for the functional group’s development, direction, and effectiveness, adhering to organizational policies and processes while supporting overall business and corporate objectives.
- Oversee the full development lifecycle of software applications and development.
- Develop project plans to manage multiple project activities supporting project completion.
- Provide technical leadership to development teams, mentoring other developers on technology.
- Hold system-wide responsibility for complex components or projects within multiple cross-functional teams.
- Ensure all modules, applications, and interfaces are thoroughly tested and evaluated with appropriate quality management team members.
- Ensure successful implementation of software solutions.
- Use knowledge of technology and product needs to recommend appropriate action, including AI-assisted software development.
- Resolve or facilitate resolution of problems and evaluate recommendations relating to business opportunities, influencing policy and process improvements.
- Manage financial delivery and adherence to financial budgets.
- Anticipate problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement innovative solutions for complex problems.
- Represent the functional area as the prime contact on projects, interacting with and influencing internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate activity across business areas, leading intra- and inter-company projects of significant complexity.
- Interpret, execute, and recommend modifications to operating policies on a multi-functional basis.
- Work with development teams and software project managers to identify and reduce project and technical risk throughout the SDLC.
- Influence customer and management at the project lead level.
- Assist with the review and evaluation of personal performance for junior team members.
- Solve highly technical, complex problems or consult for other projects.
- Participate in regulatory and safety reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Minimum 8 years of software development experience and 3+ years of team management experience.
- Experience with mission-critical applications, preferably medical products/devices.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements preferred.
- Experience with formal Waterfall and Agile methodologies, including ongoing maintenance and new application development.
- Team-oriented attitude and vision.
- Highly technical and complex knowledge of one software technology or basic knowledge of several technologies.
- Hands-on experience building AI-powered applications.
- Ability to evaluate, adopt, and leverage emerging AI technologies to improve developer productivity, software quality, and business outcomes.
- Experience implementing AI-assisted developer tools, coding assistants, or workflow automation.
- Demonstrated experience in database and web development.
- Creativity and initiative in problem-solving.
- Strong development background, including n-tier development on multiple platforms, interaction with database technology (Oracle, SQL Server), SQA model, and object-oriented analysis and design.
- Experience in one or more modern programming languages such as C#, Go, Java, or similar, with the ability to work across multiple languages and technology stacks.
- Experience with modern cloud platforms, event-driven architectures, microservices, and CI/CD strongly preferred.
- Experience using risk analysis and mitigation methodologies.
- Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Physical Requirements
- Typical office environment: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, traversing, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in person at the Lakewood, CO Headquarters, with additional days as needed.
Pay
Target pay range: $154,300.00 to $192,900.00 (salary determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market alignment). Target bonus on base: 15%.
