About the role
The Royal Caribbean Group’s Supply Chain Team has an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Commodity Manager reporting to the AVP, Global Hotel, F&B Procurement. This position is onsite and based in 100 Biscayne Blvd. This position is not eligible for work authorization sponsorship.
The Lead acts as a subject matter procurement expert for assigned goods and/or services. Responsibilities include researching suppliers, conferring with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule, and developing short- and long-term procurement strategies.
Responsibilities
- Performs complex price analysis of multiple variables.
- Expert use of analysis, forecasting, problem-solving, and quality improvement to develop strategies for dynamic market conditions.
- Develops procurement and negotiation strategies based on multiple and often complex variables.
- Negotiates price, availability, transportation, and delivery schedule, often in high-volatility situations with limited guidelines.
- Analyzes and incorporates specific market data into negotiations, strategies, and plans.
- Communicates and presents clear strategies, plans, and cost impacts to upper management.
- Attends industry trade shows and conferences.
- Performs all functions in line with corporate Procurement Policy.
- Responsible for implementing and driving change.
- Approves purchase orders up to $50K and signs invoices up to $50K.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field (or the international equivalent) and/or relevant work experience preferred.
- 5+ years of related procurement experience or specialized technical experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and priorities.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel.
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from suppliers and all levels of staff and management, both shipboard and shoreside.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit, stand, write, review and type reports, compile data, and operate a PC.
- Must communicate, listen, compare variables, and assess information.
- Regularly moves about the office complex; may climb, descend, lift, or move up to 10 pounds.
Work Environment
- Work environment includes office locations and/or moving inside/outside the office.
- High noise levels possible if visiting shipboard or offsite locations.
- Ability to travel internationally and domestically required.
