MFLC Counselor Short Term or As Needed Coverage, Hawaii
About the role
Military and Family Life Counselors (MFLCs) are needed to provide counseling services to Service Members and their families, both on and off military installations. The role requires a master’s degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions and licensure to practice independently.
Responsibilities
- Face-to-face counseling to military Service Members and their families (individual, couples, family, and children).
- Recommend appropriate referrals and handoffs based on differential clinical skills to military and community resources.
- Offer presentations on social skills development and social emotional learning.
- Build rapport with Service Members, spouses, and children by attending installation and community events.
- Help families and children with challenges particular to the military community, including transitions, relocations, deployments, and more.
Requirements
- A master’s degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions.
- Licensure to practice at the independent practice level (LCSW, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist) in a state or territory of the United States.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Pass a basic background check for employment and a Public Trust clearance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of military-specific issues and challenges.
- Proficiency in counseling techniques and interventions.

The role requires a strong commitment to the mission and the ability to work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor locations on military installations, schools, and child development centers.

Pay
Pay Range: $39/hr. - $50/hr.
