About the role

Military and Family Life Counselors (MFLCs) are needed to provide counseling services to military service members and their families. Mission Ready Reserve (MRR) MFLCs are available to serve when needed, focusing on mental health support without administrative burdens.

Responsibilities

  • Face-to-face counseling to military service members and their families (individual, couples, family, and children).
  • Recommend appropriate referrals and handoffs based on clinical skills to military and community resources.
  • Offer presentations on social skills development and social emotional learning.
  • Build rapport with service members, spouses, and children by attending installation and community events.
  • Support families and children with challenges specific to the military community, such as transitions, relocations, deployments, and more.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD).
  • A valid independent license in the mental health field from any US state or territory (LCSW, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist).
  • A U.S. citizen.
  • Able to pass a basic background check for employment, a Child National Agency Check, and Inquiries (NACI/CNACI) clearance, commonly called a Public Trust clearance.
  • Live within 50 miles of Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

    Pay

    The pay range for this position is $28/hr. - $50/hr.

    Schedule

    Part-time, full-time work on a part-time basis.
