Under the general supervision of a supervisor or an employee of equal or higher rank, this role is responsible for the effective design of manufacturing resources including Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) numerical controlled (NC) programs, Manufacturing Computer Aided Design (MCAD) tools/fixtures, loft patterns, and operational models with associated 2D drawings.
Responsibilities
- Interrogate, analyze, comprehend, and interpret various Engineering Drawings, Models, Bills of Materials, Technical Specifications, Quality Documents, Bell Process Framework, and departmental procedures.
- Provide MCAD operational models and 2D drawings for manufacturing process planning sequences.
- Offer process liaison support for manufacturing operations when MCAD models with 2D drawings exist.
- Develop, create, and maintain Tooling/Fixture definition for manufacturing operations for all media types including MCAD and manual legacy designs.
- Execute creation and maintenance of CAM programs and operator instructions for Numerical Controlled equipment.
- Develop, create, and maintain Loft MCAD models, flat patterns, and associated digital tooling programs.
- Support producibility assessments when requested.
- Maintain records and schedules of work assigned.
- Meet established company cost control standards, schedule, and quality requirements to maintain market competitiveness.
- Provide technical assistance to procurement and suppliers as determined by management.
- Apply strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact between internal and external customers.
- Apply extensive aircraft manufacturing knowledge to train, direct, instruct, and validate Production Engineering work.
- Attend training and complete competency-based testing as required by management to remain current with technological advancements.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of college or three (3) years of experience in the aircraft industry or completion of a related Bell apprentice program.
- Demonstrated capability to perform essential functions related to the application of GD&T/Aerospace tolerances.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Working knowledge of NC Programming, Loft, Engineering, Tool Design, Manufacturing, and Planning processes and procedures.
- Skilled in concepts related to the application of GD&T/Aerospace tolerances.

- This position requires use of information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
