About the role
Mfg. Eng. Resource Programmer III is responsible for the effective design of manufacturing resources including: Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) numerical controlled (NC) programs, Manufacturing Computer Aided Design (MCAD) tools/fixtures, loft patterns, and operational models with associated 2D drawings.
Responsibilities
- Interrogate, analyze, comprehend, and interpret various Engineering Drawings, Models, Bills of Materials, Technical Specifications, Quality Documents, Bell Process Framework, and departmental procedures as necessary to perform assigned work.
- Provides MCAD operational models and 2D drawings for manufacturing process planning sequences as required.
- Provide process liaison support for manufacturing operations when MCAD models with 2D drawings exist as required.
- Develops, Creates and Maintains Tooling/Fixture definition for manufacturing operations for all media types including MCAD and manual legacy designs.
- Executes creation and maintenance of CAM programs and operator instructions for Numerical Controlled equipment.
- Responsible for developing, creating, and maintaining Loft MCAD models, flat patterns and associated digital tooling programs.
- Supports producibility assessments when requested.
- Maintains records and schedules of work assigned.
- Meets established company cost control standards, schedule and quality requirements to maintain market competitiveness.
- Provides technical assistance to procurement and suppliers as determined by management.
- Execute strong communication skills, both verbal and written, required to communicate and interact between internal and external customers.
- Apply extensive aircraft manufacturing knowledge and be prepared to train, direct, instruct, and check/validate Production Engineering work.
Requirements
- Two (2) years college or three (3) years of experience in the aircraft industry or completed related Bell apprentice program.
- Demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities related to the application of GD&T/Aerospace tolerances.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of NC Programming, Loft, Engineering, Tool Design, Manufacturing and Planning processes and procedures.
- Skilled in the concept related to the application of GD&T/Aerospace tolerances.
Skills
- Knowledge of shop production and processing operations.
- Ability to execute strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
