MFG CNC Operator

Job Responsibilities

• Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
• Operate and troubleshoot CNC lathes and mills with limited assistance.
• Load and unload product from machines.
• Reduce setup time and machine through process improvements.
• Stop machines to remove finished workpieces or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, according to required machining sequences.
• Recognize broken or worn tooling and replace as needed.
• Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
• Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists or cranes.
• Reads and interprets blueprints.
• Understands basic industry standard G-code programming.
• Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling.
• Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
• Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department.
• Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures.
• Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
• Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management.
• Attends scheduled meetings and actively participates by providing meaningful input.
• Is flexible with time and schedule to assure availability.
• Communicates honestly, professionally and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Job Skills & Qualifications

• 2-3 years of related experience or training.
• Proficient knowledge of CNC machine operation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
• Ability to read and use measurement tools accurately.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 -75 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
