Responsibilities
- Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures
- Operate and troubleshoot CNC lathes and mills with limited assistance
- Load and unload product from machines
- Reduce setup time and machine through process improvements
- Stop machines to remove finished workpieces or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, according to required machining sequences
- Recognize broken or worn tooling and replace as needed
- Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
- Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists or cranes
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Understand basic industry standard G-code programming
- Recognize, deploy and properly use inserts, fixtures and tooling
- Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery
- Provide constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department
- Utilize and abide by ISO requirements and safety procedures
- Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions
- Communicate thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management
- Attend scheduled meetings and actively participate by providing meaningful input
- Be flexible with time and schedule to assure availability
- Communicate honestly, professionally and respectfully with others and demonstrate effective listening skills
Requirements
- 2–3 years of related experience or training
- Proficient knowledge of CNC machine operation
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
- Ability to read and use measurement tools accurately
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs. and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
