Responsibilities

  • Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures
  • Operate and troubleshoot CNC lathes and mills with limited assistance
  • Load and unload product from machines
  • Reduce setup time and machine through process improvements
  • Stop machines to remove finished workpieces or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, according to required machining sequences
  • Recognize broken or worn tooling and replace as needed
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
  • Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists or cranes
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Understand basic industry standard G-code programming
  • Recognize, deploy and properly use inserts, fixtures and tooling
  • Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery
  • Provide constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department
  • Utilize and abide by ISO requirements and safety procedures
  • Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions
  • Communicate thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management
  • Attend scheduled meetings and actively participate by providing meaningful input
  • Be flexible with time and schedule to assure availability
  • Communicate honestly, professionally and respectfully with others and demonstrate effective listening skills

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of related experience or training
  • Proficient knowledge of CNC machine operation
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
  • Ability to read and use measurement tools accurately
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs. and stand for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
