About the Role
Under limited supervision, diagnoses, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on numerical control (NC), computerized numerical control (CNC), precision, and conventional machine tools, as well as other production equipment used in the development, manufacture, and testing of products.
Areas of specialization may include electrical, mechanical, vacuum, hydraulic, refrigeration, NC repair, and machine tool rebuilding. Responsibilities include using measuring instruments, diagnosing issues, and making general repairs to production equipment. Determines replacement parts as needed and performs limited welding, basic plumbing, and/or grinding activities. Works from prints and schematics.
Skills for this role are typically acquired through 2-3 years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair NC, CNC, precision, and conventional machine tools.
- Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment.
- Use measuring instruments to assess equipment functionality.
- Determine and source replacement parts as needed.
- Perform limited welding, basic plumbing, and grinding activities.
- Interpret prints and schematics for repairs and maintenance.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in machine tool repair or a related field.
- Ability to work from prints and schematics.
- Experience with electrical, mechanical, vacuum, hydraulic, refrigeration, or NC repair is a plus.
