Metrology & Test Equipment Services Lab Manager
Position Responsibilities
Lead a team of metrology engineers as a part of Metrology and Test Equipment Services (MATES)
Establish rapport with, and serve as primary point of contact for key business partners
Collaborate with peers across the enterprise, and the MATES leadership team
Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches
Provide leadership and escalation support for resolution of complex technical issues impacting multiple Labs / operational areas
Lead initiatives to influence cross-functional improvements
Responsible for coaching, counseling, mentoring and providing developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities
Conduct routine assessment of operational area compliance with command media
Support rotating weekend on-call duty assignment (approx. one weekend every two months)
Basic Qualifications
- This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R.120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
- Experience building strong business partner relationships
- Proficient utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to stand and walk throughout work shift (6+ hours) as well as carry and lift up to 35 pounds
- Willing to travel domestically as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience managing projects
- 3+ years of experience leading the resolution of complex, technical issues
- 3+ years of experience in collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication
- Experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal leadership role
- Experience in quality and/or lab management
- Experience with metrology
