About the Role
Performs the duties of a radiographic technician. These duties include, but are not limited to:
- Systems check out of x-ray equipment and annotating discrepancies on check-out form.
- Receiving test materials, both energetic and non-energetic, and transporting test material to the image room.
- Orienting test items according to the test plan for optimal image.
- Operating the x-ray console to capture x-ray images.
- Transporting cassettes to the review station.
- Reviewing images following criteria specified on the test plan and comparing images to the baseline digital image library.
- Annotating any cracks, voids, or anomalies on the inspection sheet.
- Setting up and operating Flash x-ray systems at firing positions.
- Placing image panels in position according to the test plan and operating the console in sequence with the firing of munitions.
- Operating the darkroom exposure area to obtain images and manually or electronically transferring images to the test officer.
- Mentoring junior technicians.
- Performing operator-level maintenance of x-ray facilities.
- Performing other duties as required to ensure completion of the test mission.
This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Requirements
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess radiation worker certification.
- Must possess ammo 45 certification.
- Must possess AA&E (Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives) certification.
- Must possess Radiographic Technician Level I certification.
- Must possess forklift certification.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical, and periodic retests.
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for assigned work tasks.
- Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions, including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Must be capable of lifting 100 lbs unassisted.
- Must be capable of working in outdoor weather conditions.
- Must be capable of frequent squatting, crouching, and stooping.
- Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined in the SOPs for Metrology and Simulation.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license without special restrictions.
- Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.
- Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.
- Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
- Must have a well-mannered customer service attitude.
- Must be willing to cross-train in other areas.
- Must be willing to support testing in other areas within the section.
- Must use “down-time” effectively to the benefit of test, self, and company.
- Must be punctual, responsible, and dependable.
- Must demonstrate motivation, initiative, and reliability.
- Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to follow instructions and company policy.

- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain it for the duration of employment.
- Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.

Pay
$28.07 per hour.
