Program Summary

KBR Metrology supports Honeywell Aerospace, Otto Instruments, Garrett Advance Motion, and their suppliers with services including onsite/offsite laboratory visits, test equipment calibration and repair, AMS2750 pyrometry services, metrology engineering, and equipment inspection. They also offer preventative maintenance, equipment sourcing, CMM inspections, automation and programming, measurement technical support, calibration recall system management, and performance tracking dashboards.

Job Summary

Metrology Technician II will provide day to day support for the Metrology Program Calibrating IMTE and guiding workflow with other technicians. Technician will be able to coordinate calibrations in house and out to vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and certification of electronic measuring and test equipment according to technical specifications, ensuring traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
  • Calibrate and repair equipment such as Multimeters, frequency counter, timers, oscilloscopes, pressure devices.
  • Calibrate standards used in calibrations and maintain equipment to established performance standards.
  • Record maintenance activities in CMS, generate reports on results of tests, conditions of equipment and/or systems, repairs, and preventive maintenance performed, and prepare necessary documentation as required by customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize common laboratory measuring, calibrating, and test equipment.
  • Apply advanced skills in area of specialization.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma with 3+ years of experience in the field, OR associate's degree in engineering technology or a relevant field with 3 years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following: voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, time and frequency, signal conditioning, blueprint and drawings, dimensional tooling and hand tools, pressure controllers, pressure dead weight testers, force gages and load cells, etc.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software, including Excel.
  • US citizenship is required for this role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IndySoft, Fluke Met/Team, Fluke Met/Track and Met/Cal experience a plus.
  • Proficient using Microsoft technology, including Excel.
  • PMEL, TMDE or calibration school a plus.
  • Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
