Metrology Process Engineer - Days
Position Summary
Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a process engineer to join a talented team focused on process/equipment qualification, yield enhancement, and problem-solving.
Role And Responsibilities
- Maintains wafer fabrication process by addressing in-line issues and managing production wafer dispositions.
- Qualifies wafer fabrication processes on new tools.
- Schedules process qualifications and equipment downtime with manufacturing or equipment engineering.
- Analyzes data using software to identify trends and make decisions about process/product processing.
- Makes adjustments when process parameters exceed limits and monitors process parameters during tool maintenance.
- Executes in-line changes (CPM) to the process or equipment.
- Communicates technical information through presentations.
- Revises Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and develops improved processes to enhance capability.
Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science.
- Cumulative GPA minimum of 3.0.
- Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language.
- Understanding of statistical methods and Change Point Management.
- Knowledge of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles.
- Ability to solve problems using structured approaches like 8D, 7-step, etc.
- Proficiency in software for data analysis such as Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment or process failures.
- Wears clean room suit and PPE as per the SAS FAB protocol.
- Able to lift, work in a tight-fitting FAB environment, sit at a computer terminal, use a computer for extended periods, and discern audible alarms.
- May work in a 24x7 manufacturing environment.
Pay And Benefits
The current base salary range for this role is between $70,480 - $179,090. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, and experience. Total compensation includes a competitive benefits package, such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
