About the Role

Assist in the reverse engineering and drawing creation of FAA approved aftermarket aircraft parts by using a variety of precision measurement tools and methods, and providing feedback and recommendations to engineers regarding part features, drawing layout and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) usage.

Responsibilities

  • Competently use a variety of metrology inspection tools to assist in the reverse engineering of aircraft parts
  • Use 3D CAD software to develop/interpret drawings and scans
  • Perform special projects or assignments to support the department
  • Manage time effectively and consistently meet task deadlines
  • Create dimensional data reports in Excel
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and metrology groups to ensure department goals are achieved
  • Mentor and assist in training of Engineering interns
  • Operate OGP Starlite, optical comparator, and height gage

Requirements

  • Ability to learn from mistakes
  • Navigate Siemens Teamcenter PLM software
  • Professional demeanor and work habits
  • Computer skills using Windows and MS Office Suite
  • Excellent attention to detail and troubleshooting ability
  • Possess knowledge of ANSI 14.5 GD&T standards and concepts
  • Ability to work with only occasional supervision and training
