About the role
This role is ideal for individuals who are naturally curious, enjoy solving complex mechanical challenges, and take pride in working with advanced measurement technology and large-scale industrial systems.Responsibilities
- Utilize precision laser metrology instruments to collect alignment and dimensional data
- Diagnose mechanical and alignment issues and recommend corrective solutions
- Perform or oversee corrective maintenance and alignment procedures
- Develop detailed Technical Service Reports, including 3D modeling documentation
- Collaborate with sales and account management teams to scope and quote projects
- Provide training and guidance on metrology tools and alignment techniques
Qualifications
- Must be willing to travel approximately 60% of the time (including multi-day, overnight stays)
- 2 or 4-yr degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field
- Strong mathematical foundation, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written communication skills, particularly in technical reporting
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with AutoCAD required; familiarity with SolidWorks, CATIA, BuildIT, Spatial Analyzer, CAM2, or PolyWorks preferred
- Proven ability and motivation to grow into a leadership role within 1–2 years
- Prior experience with the Naval industry preferred
