Metrology Engineer

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities

• Develop and qualify new automated video inspection programs.
• Maintain the integrity and operation global automated video inspection programs.
• Perform R&D inspections.
• Have input on the design of inspection tooling & fixtures.
• Generate capability and Gage R&R reports.
• Provide support for automated video inspection programs on manufacturing floor.
• Collaborate with engineering on metrology and print details.

Preferred Experience

• 3 – 5 Years’ Experience in a manufacturing environment programming automated video equipment, CMM or other measurement equipment.
• Must have a technical background.
• Inspection & Testing experience required.
• Experience in Python or Java is preferred.
• Must be able to work in a collaborative and team environment.
• Solid understanding of Samtec’s Product offerings.
• Must be able to interpret data collected and be able to present & communicate the information.
• Have experience using Samtec systems
• Experience in 3D software and analytical tools is required.
• SolidWorks, Minitab, or JMP is preferred.
• Familiar with all Microsoft Suite applications with an emphasis on Excel.
• Some travel may be required to domestic and global facilities, vendors, and training centers.
• Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes, and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs
