Metrologist

Responsibilities

• Perform precision measurement, inspection, analysis, and reporting activities to support manufacturing and quality initiatives
• Program and operate CMM equipment using Mitutoyo COSMOS
• Develop and validate inspection methods for new components and products
• Partner with Product Development, Supplier Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure designs are measurable and manufacturable
• Support root cause analysis efforts related to dimensional and tolerance issues
• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and inspection documentation
• Utilize measuring instruments including optical comparators and vision systems
• Support quality improvement initiatives and help reduce reliance on external metrology vendors

Qualifications

• Experience with CMM programming, specifically Mitutoyo COSMOS
• Hands-on experience using precision measuring equipment including optical comparators and vision systems
• Strong understanding of dimensional analysis, tolerancing, and inspection methodologies
• Experience working independently in a manufacturing, quality, or engineering environment
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of related metrology or manufacturing quality experience preferred
• Able to identify trends, analyze data, and support process improvement initiatives
