Metro Action Commission Teacher Assistant - Part-Time

This is a part-time position located with the Metropolitan Action Commission.

Schedule

• 19 hours per week (Before Care Shift): Mon.–Fri., 6:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. You will be assigned a three-hour work shift one day during the week.
• 19 hours per week (After Care Shift): Mon.–Fri., 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. You will be assigned a three-hour work shift one day during the week.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher.
• Assist with integrating the educational aspects of Head Start.
• Serve as a member of the classroom staff.
• Provide children with a learning environment.
• Provide children with varied experiences.
• Help children to develop socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver License.
• Extensive background checks and random drug tests are performed on applicants.
• All employees must be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents within six months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous work experience with young children.
