About the role

This entry-level position in our Lancaster, PA office involves reading residential and commercial gas meters, recording readings using handheld computers, and completing routes on foot or by vehicle. A company vehicle is provided.

Responsibilities

• Read residential and commercial gas meters and record readings using handheld computers via walking and mobile routes
• Complete routine meter inspections
• Perform collections work
• Interact with customers to gain access to premises and answer questions

Requirements

• Must pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check
• Safe driving history (confirmed by driver’s record check); recent and/or multiple violations may disqualify a candidate
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license during employment
• Able to follow all Company safety policies and procedures
• Able to complete walking and/or driving routes daily in all weather conditions
• General computer knowledge and ability to use hand tools
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• PA Driver’s license

Qualifications

• Previous meter reading experience preferred
• Customer service and collections experience helpful
• Ability to work effectively with supervision, fellow employees, customers, and the public
