TelevisaUnivision KMEX 34 is seeking a Temporary Meteorologist to join their team. Ideal candidates must love weather and meteorology, be excellent communicators, possess a commanding and professional on-camera presence with top-notch judgment, and be creative and innovative with a high engagement in digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• This position requires the employee to be part of or join the SAG-AFTRA bargaining unit.
• Must be a weather expert who works well in a team environment with other meteorologists, producers, and technical staff.
• Well-versed in the latest weather technology, including WSI Max, CSV files, and experience in Excel.
• Flexible to work any assigned shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to adlib for extended periods of time.
• Cook with the news department when weather conditions produce news coverage scenarios.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of synoptic meteorology, tropical, and radar forecasting tools.
• Technologically savvy with strong computer skills.
• Experience with WSI weather system and graphics.
• Excellent and grammatically accurate Spanish language skills – both written and oral – are required.
• A strong understanding of news gathering ethical and legal issues.
• Genuine enthusiasm for work and a drive for excellence.

Bilingual

Bilingual - fluency in English and Spanish is required.
