Meteorologist, Telemundo T39 Dallas/Fort Worth

Responsibilities

• Tell the market’s weather stories in a way that connects with and captivates viewers.
• Develop innovative and creative ways of presenting the daily weather story, emphasizing accuracy and hyper‑local forecasting.
• Produce weather graphics and analyze data from the National Weather Service and other meteorological sources.
• Use MAX reality and produce 3‑D models to integrate into creative storytelling.
• Utilize MAX Connect and MAX Reality on the field.
• Produce weather segments for other Telemundo and NBCU stations within the station group when needed.
• Work with the weather team and producers to create complete coverage of weather events.
• Prepare post‑forecasts for multiple news platforms.
• Constantly update the weather for the Telemundo Dallas website.
• Live reporting and attendance at community and weather‑related events when needed.
• Daily social media posts, especially during severe weather events.
• Science‑oriented story production and execution.
• Participate in editorial meetings, be on time, and contribute enterprise ideas to the producer team.
• Represent Telemundo Dallas in the community through events requiring the employee to MC.
• Other duties assigned by the News Director.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Spanish and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
• 3+ years of experience as a weather presenter.
• Degree in meteorology or atmospheric science (BS preferred).
• Experience with severe weather coverage, including hurricanes, tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, flooding, and winter events.
• Passion for covering major weather events at any time.
• Compelling on‑air presence – crisp, clear, and confident delivery in Spanish.
• Ability to thrive under intense deadline pressure of television weather.
• Technologically savvy with strong computer skills; working knowledge of WSI system and WSI 3D graphics preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills in Spanish and English.
• Strong leadership qualities and self‑motivation.

Eligibility Requirements

• Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be 18 years or greater.
• Ability to work flexible and sometimes long hours wall‑to‑wall due to the nature of weather events in DFW.
• Ability to work nights and weekends for coverage of weather events.

Additional Requirements

• This position is required to be performed full‑time from an NBCUniversal‑designated worksite.
