About the Role

NBCUniversal’s Owned Television stations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, KXAS TV/KXTX TV, are looking for a News Photographer. In this role, you will shoot and edit stories, including spot news and features, using creative camera techniques, lighting, and editing skills to deliver compelling content.

Responsibilities

  • Shoot and edit news stories, including breaking news and feature segments.
  • Operate camera equipment, LiveU, and Adobe Premiere editing systems.
  • Respond quickly to breaking news while coordinating with the assignment desk, reporters, anchors, production, and control room teams.
  • Utilize communication tools (email, cell phones, messaging) to stay connected with assignment teams.
  • Operate ENG live/microwave trucks for live remote broadcasts.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience shooting video in a broadcast environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating ENG live/microwave trucks.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience editing stories using professional software.
  • Proficiency with communication tools (email, cell phones, messaging).
  • Valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Ability to work any shift within a 24/7 news operation, including overtime, weekends, and holidays with short notice.
  • Must be at least 18 years old with unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must accept NBCUniversal’s Alternative Dispute Resolution program (Solutions).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5 years of photography/editing experience in a medium or major market TV news station.
  • Experience with Sony ENG cameras and Adobe Premiere edit systems.
  • Knowledge of wireless newsgathering technology.
  • Ability to lift and carry camera equipment (15–30 lbs.) for extended periods during remote shoots.
  • Team player with flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

  • This is a full-time, on-site position at an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
