Metals Inspector

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• Arrange for correction of deficiencies and re-inspection of repaired items.
• Perform traditional, Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) of castings, forgings, machined parts, test plates, welds, metal cladding, pipes, bar stock, flat metal sheets, airframe and engine assemblies utilizing NDI test equipment.
• Inspect parts for flaws or defects, discontinuities in patterns, interpret indications and document flaws or defects in material and prepare reports on defective parts.
• Work with subordinate inspectors to set the pace and demonstrate proper inspection methods.
• May be required to work with trainees.

Minimum Salary

$26.43 per hour

Maximum Salary

$30.82 per hour
