Main Responsibilities
- Evaluate, qualify, approve and specify all materials and processes used on landing gear design components.
- Techically support manufacturing operations related to: specifications, procedures, manufacturing plans, process techniques, deviations, substitutions, repair, MRB dispositions, certifications, corrective action, operator training certification, internal and external audits, efficiency and cost reduction projects.
- Collaborate with Quality and MRB teams to make change or scrap determinations.
- Collaborate with Process and Engineering teams to make structural integrity determinations for high strength steel and alloys throughout the plating and treatment process.
- Act as a delegated M&PE for manufacturing plan and process technique approval.
- Represent the company as an active M&P member and subscriber within the Nadcap councils including: meetings, task groups, internal processes and external process supplier accreditation.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years in the metallurgical industry, preferably in aerospace.
- Experience in landing gear materials and related processes, such as high strength steel, aluminum and titanium alloys, heat treating, plating, peening, forging, casting and NDT processes.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Practical experience with metallurgical laboratory testing.
