Metal Wash

About the role

The Metal Wash position is essential in maintaining the quality and cleanliness of metal components in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for washing, inspecting, and preparing metal parts for further processing. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Wash, blast and clean parts and materials before processing.
• Operate various types of blasting equipment.
• Treat parts in proper solutions; monitor solution levels and notify supervisor for solution correction.
• Operate abrasive hone machine and parts tumbler.
• Load and unload parts and equipment as instructed.
• Assist other operators with various plating operations as assigned.
• Maintain work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
• Perform other duties as requested, necessary or appropriate.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Use temperature and timing gauges.
• Work with chemical cleaning solvents and acids.
• Set up and shut down tanks, valves, water systems and sandblasting machine.
• Inspect parts for minor defects while cleaning.
• Demonstrate good written and communication skills.

Requirements

• Language: ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to verbally communicate effectively.
• Mathematical: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
• Reasoning Ability: ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Physical: comfortable with the physical demands of the role, including the ability to lift 35 pounds.

Schedule

Full‑time. Available shift options include a 10‑hour shift or an 8‑hour shift.

Location

Garden Grove, CA 92841. Candidates must be able to commute to this location and be willing to relocate before starting work.
