Key Responsibilities

  • Powder, buff, grind, and finish stainless steel and other metal components using hand tools, power tools, and polishing equipment to achieve specified surface finishes.
  • Produce smooth, uniform finishes that meet customer requirements and internal quality standards.
  • Perform finishing work in flat, vertical, overhead, and confined-space positions as required by the project.
  • Conduct in-process inspections to verify that finished products meet dimensional, cosmetic, and quality specifications.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers, to confirm compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and production documentation to accurately complete assigned tasks.
  • Complete daily production reports and accurately document labor hours, materials used, and project status.
  • Safely transport materials and finished products using forklifts and other approved material handling equipment, as required.
  • Collaborate effectively with fabrication, welding, assembly, and packaging teams to support production schedules and customer deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Identify quality concerns and communicate issues promptly to supervisors to support corrective action and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational objectives.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in manufacturing or factory environments with a focus on metal finishing or polishing.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in manufacturing or metal finishing preferred.
  • A minimum of 1–3 years of experience in metal polishing, finishing, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience working with stainless steel components is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in the use of hand tools, grinders, sanders, buffers, and polishing equipment.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to maintain and troubleshoot tools and equipment.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification preferred.
  • Strong mathematical skills related to measurements and basic calculations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
