METAL MFG - POWDER COAT PAINTER

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to apply powder paint to metal components, ensuring color and mil-thickness meet specifications using both manual and automatic equipment. You will work closely with the team to meet production goals while adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Load paint into hoppers and call up specific programs on manual guns and automatic systems.
• Prepare paint line and load appropriate powder coating color in equipment.
• Maintain process control to ensure product finish meets specifications.
• Ensure powder application guarantees mil coverage.
• Monitor paint inventory and advise personnel when restocking is needed.
• Clean equipment, booth, and surrounding area for the next application or shutdown.
• Work safely, using all required personal protective equipment.
• Complete preventative maintenance activities in the department as needed.
• Collaborate with the team to identify and eliminate non-value-added processes and waste.

Requirements

• Prior powder coating experience desired.
• Basic mechanical skills and ability to use small hand tools.
• Prior vocational/trade school background preferred.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Close vision and ability to use hands to handle items regularly.
• Must stand throughout the workday and reach above shoulder height.
• Strong arm strength to continuously hold and manipulate a spray gun.
• Comfortable using ladders/step ladders.
• Reliable transportation required.

Pay

$18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Schedule

• 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday (5:00 am to 3:30 pm).
• Overtime as needed on Friday (5:00 am to 3:30 pm) and sometimes Saturday (5:00 am to 11:00 am).
• No less than 40 hours per week.

This is a full-time, temp-to-hire position located in Buffalo, NY (14206). In-person work only.
