Responsibilities

  • Prepare the surface of truck parts for painting using hand and power tools.
  • Mix, apply, and remove body filler to uneven surfaces and defects in metal.
  • Inspect and detect defects in equipment and parts.
  • Communicate with co-workers to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Sweep and clean work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Lift and transport truck parts to and from designated areas.
  • Perform metal finishing duties such as caulking, taping, grinding, and buffing.
  • Rotate between painting, sanding, and taping parts and equipment if directed.
  • Complete paint finishing tasks, including applying primer and paint to parts.

Requirements

  • Proficient at reading checklists, paint codes, safety logs, and JSA's.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in industrial painting or an evaluated equivalent.
  • Ability to start training to perform touch-up work.
  • Ability to cross-train.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to operate and access heavy equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to remember task sequence and safety constraints.

Skills

  • Proficiency in reading checklists, paint codes, safety logs, and JSA's.

Pay

Competitive pay based on experience and education, minimum starting rate $23.95 per hour. Additional premiums apply for 2nd & 3rd shifts, Early Weekend shifts, and Weekend shifts.

Schedule

  • Openings on all shifts.
  • A majority of positions on 2nd shift and Early Weekend shift.
  • Shift times and overtime hours vary dependent on position, department, and location.
