Responsibilities
- Uses blueprints to understand the surface finish requirements of each individual project.
- Uses various pneumatic tools in order to achieve the desired/specified surface finish for each project.
- Polishes, grinds, and cleans metal surfaces and welds, which at times requires working from heights and in confined spaces for up to two-hour increments.
- Operates hand trucks, carts, pallet trucks, and hoists for movement of materials.
- Detects defective material, unusual conditions, or operating difficulties and reports to the appropriate lead or supervisor.
- Adheres to company safety policies, procedural guidelines, and works in a consistently safe manner.
- Actively participates in company continuous improvement initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Degree or certificate from a technical welding school is preferred.
- Must have a basic understanding of relevant welding processes.
- Ability to understand the difference between chemical requirements and dairy 3A standards.
- Must know the different surface finishes on stainless sheet steel and how to protect the surfaces.
- Must have good blueprint reading skills.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
