Metal Finisher - $27.30/Hour + $2.00 Hour Shift Premium

About the Role

Responsible for maintaining key performance metrics such as safety, quality, and delivery. Will repair weld, grind, operate a variety of tools and equipment using prints, bills (ARI), and engineering/supervisor direction.

Responsibilities

• Perform various metal finishing techniques to prepare parts for paint.
• Report labor and job data accurately.
• Maintain quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and neat work area.
• Perform other jobs within the department or plant as required by supervision.
• Read and understand prints, bills of material, ARI, and safety notices.
• Complete all job-related checklists, safety-related checklists, and lists pertaining to a particular cab or part at the beginning of each shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
• Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to physically perform the essential functions of the job.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Regular standing; occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and handling.
• Vision requirements include depth perception and peripheral vision.

Working Conditions

• Regularly exposed to noise, odors, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, drafts, vibration, electricity, and heights.
• Use of welders, hand tools, hoists, cranes, saws, air tools, grinders, die grinders, orbiters, drill presses, and roller press.
• Required personal protective equipment: hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes with metatarsal protection, face shield or goggles, welding helmet, and gloves.
