Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design of metal building frames, secondary framing, and connections using industry-standard software (e.g., MBS, AutoCAD, SkyCiv, etc.).
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, AISI, MBMA) and project-specific requirements.
- Optimize designs for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability while maintaining structural integrity.
- Evaluate and design modifications for existing structures when necessary.
- Work closely with drafting and detailing teams to ensure accurate representation of engineering intent in shop drawings and erection plans.
- Provide guidance to project managers, sales, and customer service teams on technical feasibility and design constraints.
- Support field service teams with structural clarifications and issue resolution during construction.
Quality & Compliance
- Conduct design checks and peer reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in developing and refining engineering standards, tools, and best practices.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes for engineering-related errors.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Stay up to date with advancements in metal building design, materials, and construction methods.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of automation tools, design optimizations, and process improvements.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe.
- 3+ years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB).
- Proficiency in structural analysis software and metal building design tools.
- Strong understanding of steel design, load paths, and connection detailing.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, MBMA, AISI).
- Preferred:
- Familiarity with metal building manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to interact with cross-functional teams.
