About the role

The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Army Research Laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on cutting-edge meta-optics device research. Key responsibilities include:

  • High-frequency electromagnetic simulations and optimization
  • Nano/micron-scale device fabrication
  • Optical and electronic device measurements

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Contribute to high-frequency electromagnetic simulations and optimization
  • Participate in nano/micron-scale device fabrication
  • Carry out optical and electronic device measurements

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A recent Ph.D. in electrical engineering, applied physics, or a closely related field
  • Hands-on experiences with commercial simulation tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics or Lumerical FDTD
  • Cleanroom fabrication of metasurfaces

Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess:

  • Strong theoretical and experimental skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Skills

Desirable skills include:

  • Experience with nanofabrication techniques
  • Knowledge of optical and electronic device fabrication
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation
