Met Lab Engineer

Your Day to Day

Provides technical support for lab personnel, processes, and inspection equipment.

Provides technical documentation/reports.

Interfaces with both internal and external customers.

Supports a project team, communicating status of any technical or production issues.

Supports development and implementation of new or improved inspection techniques.

Creates and revises procedures, forms, and submittals.

Assists with quoting for future work scopes.

Maintains and trends on inspection data and key product attributes.

Maintains cognizance over assigned area/process.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• Must have demonstratable skills and knowledge in using and understanding contract technical requirements.
• Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills in order to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is required.
• Must be highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail in order to successfully multi-task.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Material Science degree from an ABET Accredited Institution is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
• Prior experience with NOG-L Quality Systems, EtQ docQnet, Solumina, and SmartForms is a plus.
