Engineering Industries eXcellence is seeking a 100% remote Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Consultant with extensive experience in Siemens Opcenter Core and Camstar implementations for Discrete Manufacturing industries.

Responsibilities

  • Support project/program leads in eliciting and building business, functional, and technical requirements (e.g., Requirement Specification – URS).
  • Assist in the design specification phase and create the Functional Design Specification document.
  • Define project tasks and estimate task duration in collaboration with project leads.
  • Report task progress to project leads and work independently under the guidance of technical leads.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to software development, branch conflicts, releases, and engineering tasks.
  • Apply project best practices and support operational improvements.
  • Develop and execute validation tests (Test Specification/Validation Specification documents), including unit, regression, integration, and functional tests.
  • Train and coach end-users on MES solutions and drive solution acceptance (Functional Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test documentation).
  • Act as a Functional Analyst when needed, identifying requirements for new MES and MOM (Manufacturing Operation Management) implementations.
  • Participate in functional discussions with customers as a knowledgeable resource.
  • Ensure applications are updated and aligned with new implementations, and analyze end-user needs.
  • Develop troubleshooting logic for MES implementations, including integration with third-party systems (e.g., ERP and automation).
  • Support system modifications and identify implementation risks in collaboration with project leads.
  • Identify security/performance issues, potential application weaknesses, and suggest solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Siemens MES Camstar and/or Opcenter solutions.
  • Experience with MES interfaces to third-party systems (e.g., automation systems like DeltaV, Siemens PCS7, Siemens SIMATIC Batch, Rockwell PLCs/SCADA).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, Java, C++, VBA/VBScript, or Python.
  • Mendix programming experience.
  • Knowledge of software release management across multiple environments (e.g., DEV, QA, PROD), including handling pull requests, merge operations, solution building, deployment, unit testing, and regression testing.
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server and/or Jira is strongly recommended.
  • Strong ability to work in virtual, remote teams and foster collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills and adaptability to learn new technologies.
  • High degree of problem-solving ability in a technical environment.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline is required. A strong background in MES and manufacturing processes for either Process or Discrete industries is recommended.
