About the role

This position works with high-net-worth clients in a Merrill branch generating annual revenues of $100k–$5mm. The role focuses on identifying client needs, developing relationships, reviewing investment goals, and preparing tailored investment recommendations that align with clients’ objectives.

Key expectations include leveraging technology to drive business growth, profiling clients to determine their investor profile and financial objectives, building a sustainable book of business, and providing career advancement opportunities within the bank.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored and personalized advice to clients through reviews and presentations, partnering with management to assess financial goals and recommend investment advisory strategies.
  • Understand and recommend client solutions best suited for their financial needs, including core Banking, Investment, and Life Priority™ solutions.
  • Shadow Financial Advisor teams to build networks by sharing relevant market developments and discussing new products to promote portfolio growth.
  • Leverage available resources and technologies to optimize the customer experience and ensure operational excellence and accuracy.
  • Participate in ongoing training focused on developing a book of business to meet and exceed predefined financial targets and progress to the next phase as an advisor.
  • Build relationships with internal service providers based on client needs and asset thresholds.
  • Proactively manage risk in every aspect of business, product, and service transactions using available tools.

Requirements

  • Currently holds FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE).
  • 4+ years of progressive professional and/or military experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in the investments industry.
  • Ability to obtain Series 7 and 66 licenses within the allotted program timeframe.
  • Self-starter who efficiently manages time and capacity.
  • Sets and accomplishes goals, building and nurturing strong relationships.
  • Collaborates effectively with others and communicates confidently with all clients.
  • Manages goals, navigates complexity, prioritizes tasks, and executes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adapts to new information, seeks solutions for clients, and incorporates regulatory due diligence into daily activities and long-term strategies.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in the financial services industry and/or a sales environment where goals were met or exceeded.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to multitask in a demanding environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a business-related field.
  • Proven ability to partner and promote lead generation.
  • Experience balancing investment management, sales activities, and new client development.
  • Achieved additional professional designations such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and/or Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC).
  • Obtained insurance licenses.

Schedule

1st shift (United States of America), 40 hours per week.

This position is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. Employees engaged in residential loan mortgage originations must register with the federal registry system and remain in good standing. Registration includes submitting to a required background check. Failure to obtain or maintain SAFE Act registration may result in immediate termination. Certain criminal history may restrict or prohibit hiring for this position under FDIC, SAFE Act, Loan Originators, and FINRA regulations.
