About the role
Dana-co, a leading design house specializing in luxury intimate apparel, is seeking a Merchandising Assistant to join our New York-based team. This position plays a key role in supporting the strategic direction of our product assortment across multiple brands.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update merchandising charts; distribute relevant information to internal teams
- Support assortment planning by identifying gaps and opportunities based on market trends, competition, and historical performance
- Conduct market research on new launches, color trends, and whitespace opportunities
- Monitor fashion trends through trade publications, social media, and industry resources
- Visit retail locations monthly to assess visual merchandising, promotional strategies, and customer preferences
- Track and analyze sales performance; highlight trends, issues, and make actionable recommendations
- Assign seasonal colors to styles; create and manage seasonal color codes
- Collaborate with the Merchandise Manager to ensure all tools and materials are accurate and aligned with the development calendar
- Cook with cross-functional teams to manage sample logistics and seasonal hand-offs
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Apparel, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in intimate apparel or a luxury fashion brand
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with acute attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Process-oriented with a creative and solution-driven mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
