Merchandiser - Laredo, TX

Johnson Brothers Maverick Beverage Company is seeking a Merchandiser to support the Chain Retail Division in the Laredo, TX market.

About the role

The Merchandiser delivers orders, rotates back stock, stocks shelves, displays purchase orders, and builds displays. You will receive the daily route via email from the Warehouse Manager or Merchandising Manager after orders are fulfilled.

Responsibilities

• Develop support by maintaining routine contact with key decision makers
• Accurately deliver and check orders into accounts
• Place product on shelves or in displays for maximum exposure
• Ensure product is merchandised correctly per standardized procedures, rotate stock, and display correct pricing and point-of-sale material
• Communicate effectively to resolve ordering or shipping needs within your designated territory
• Meet agreed-upon goals and objectives in a timely manner
• Provide pictures of display, cold box, or shelf reset executions upon request
• Communicate customer requests to management
• Keep accurate daily and weekly logs of accounts visited
• Arrive on time for work, appointments, meetings, and other work-related functions
• Use all available point-of-sale materials to enhance selling efforts
• Focus on merchandising basics such as display size and location, shelf position, cold boxes, counters, windows, and other consumer impact areas
• Travel within established geographic areas as necessary

Requirements

• High School diploma required
• 1 year of warehouse experience preferred; inventory control experience a plus
• Forklift certification is a benefit
• Ability to lift and carry 40+ pound cases of product
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record that meets company insurance requirements
• Work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends
• Organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
• Self-motivated and able to work alone or within a team
• Goal-oriented, focused, and assertive with minimal need for direction or supervision
• Proven track record of strong sales in previous or current work experience
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal talents to enhance customer and retailer relationships
• Regular, consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance including the ability to work extended hours and weekends when required
• Pass a criminal background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) check
• Download and use the TripLog app for accurate mileage tracking if receiving mileage allowance
