Merchandise Manager: Garden & Patio

Job Responsibilities

• Affirms and executes strategic merchandise plans to boost product sales.
• Manages partner relationships and key performance indicators (KPIs) for merchandising categories.
• Assesses vendor capabilities and selects those that align with the company's merchandising strategies.
• Develops and nurtures business relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Proposes process improvements to enhance service, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Creates and implements plans for new business opportunities.
• Evaluates vendor reliability and identifies new supply sources if necessary.
• Enhances or expands merchandise assortments and executes merchandising plans for profitability.
• Assesses supplier/partner capabilities to meet product and distribution standards.
• Maintains supplier performance and resolves quality and fulfillment issues to ensure consistent quality standards.
• Monitors merchandising costs, performance schedules, and contract/subcontract performance to ensure optimal customer value.
• Collaborates with management to devise marketing plans aimed at driving revenue and profitability.
• Supports the execution of merchandising strategies through collaboration with various cross-functional teams.
• Fulfills legal guidelines and requirements.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Three or more years of merchandising experience, preferably within eCommerce.
• Experience in Patio, Outdoor, or Garden areas is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proven ability to collaborate with others to achieve project goals.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and effective collaboration across various departments.
• Highly developed and creative problem-solving and project management skills.
• Ability to influence and lead diverse teams.
• Experience in hiring and leading teams.

Physical Requirements

This position requires sitting, standing, and performing general office functions. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds may be required. Bending, stooping, and reaching are also frequently required.
