Merchandise Manager: Garden & Patio

Job Responsibilities

• Affirms and executes strategic merchandise plans to boost product sales.
• Manages partner relationships and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for merchandising categories.
• Assesses vendor capabilities and selects those that align with the company's merchandising strategies.
• Develops and strengthens business relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Proposes improvements to processes to enhance service, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Creates and implements plans for new business opportunities.
• Evaluates vendor reliability and identifies new supply sources if necessary.
• Enhances or expands merchandise assortments and executes merchandising plans that are profitable by managing quality, sourcing, and delivery.
• Defines product and distribution standards for assigned merchandise assortments and evaluates supplier/partner capabilities.
• Maintains supplier performance and resolves quality and/or fulfillment issues to ensure consistent quality standards.
• Monitors merchandising costs, performance schedules, and contract/subcontract performance to guarantee customers receive the best quality at the best value.
• Collaborates with management to devise marketing plans aimed at driving revenue and profitability.
• Supports the execution of merchandising strategies through collaboration with various cross-functional teams.
• Complies with prescribed legal guidelines and requirements.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Three (3) or more years of merchandising experience, preferably within eCommerce.
• Experience in Patio, Outdoor, or Garden a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proven ability to collaborate with others to achieve project goals.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, capable of professional interactions with suppliers and employees at all levels.
• Strong time management and decision-making skills, able to prioritize and organize tasks and projects.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines, work independently, and be proactive.
• Paying close attention to detail and working effectively and collaboratively across various departments to meet goals and deadlines.
• Highly developed and creative problem-solving and project management skills.
• Ability to influence people across the organization.
• Experience hiring and leading diverse teams.
