About the role

The MEP Project Manager at Schnackel Engineers, Inc. is responsible for leading a team in developing MEP engineering projects using the company's innovative AI for MEP® software platform. This role involves managing project timelines, ensuring quality, and coordinating with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Research client needs and project scope during internal meetings
• Introduce team members to clients and assign roles and responsibilities
• Coordinate with architects and survey teams
• Plan team, time, and capacity, set milestones, and prepare jobs in project management software
• Review MEP designs in AutoCAD and manage project status
• Send checklists to clients and distribute information to team members
• Attend and lead discipline break-out meetings
• Lead biweekly internal team meetings
• Maintain task lists and track project progress
• Keep email correspondence and follow up on tasks
• Review project budgets and monitor deadlines
• Ensure project accuracy and deliver final documents
• Prepare and send change orders to clients
• Manage project documentation and provide methodological support

Requirements

• An ABET-accredited degree in Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or Construction Management
• Five or more years of project management experience in MEP/FP engineering or a national retail company, construction engineering firm
• Experience with Revit/CAD
• Strong communication and project management skills
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
