MEP Project Manager

Location: Oglesby, IL – this is not a remote position; candidates must be able to commute to Oglesby, IL.

About the role

The MEP Project Manager ensures the overall success of customer projects by supporting administrative, scheduling, and communication activities. Responsibilities include defining project objectives, building requirements, and managing cost, time, scope, and quality constraints. The role involves preparing project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables, as well as overseeing project execution and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Documents project baselines and decomposes complex work into manageable components.
• Identifies project resource requirements and coordinates with company staff for successful project completion.
• Manages costs, schedules, and quality by overseeing project deliverables.
• Performs ongoing reviews of project status and identifies potential risks, recommending mitigation solutions.
• Manages project scope, change control, and escalates issues as needed.
• Notifies management early of potential technical, schedule, or budget overages or shortfalls.
• Interfaces with stakeholders to manage changes to project scope, requirements, cost, and schedule.
• Assists with detailed reviews of Requests for Proposals (RFP) and leads teams in developing technical elements, scheduling, and price estimates.
• Provides weekly, monthly, and quarterly status reporting on project performance.
• Assists in developing and supporting local project management processes, procedures, and best practices.
• Challenges organizational processes that do not add value and proposes improvements.
• Actively contributes to continuous improvement of processes, methodologies, and tools within the organization.

Requirements

• Project Certification (PMP) or commitment to acquire certification within the first 12 months of employment.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in project or program management, ideally in the industrial installation space.
• Ability to work in a team environment and maintain close technical involvement throughout the project lifecycle.
• Experience with project management methodology, including budget development, planning, control, assurance, and project management software.
• Familiarity with finance and accounting concepts and practices.
• Ability to multitask and balance multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills to simplify complex projects for task assignments, milestones, and critical paths.
• Demonstrated excellence in inclusion, teamwork, collaboration, and knowledge transfer.
• Self-starter with leadership, mentoring, and coaching abilities.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, including Microsoft Project.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for team and customer interactions.
• Experience with architecture, development, integration, and deployment of project phases.

Pay

Up to $110,000 annually, dependent on experience, plus a performance-based bonus structure.
