About the Role

Responsible for providing technical expertise, oversight, and training in accomplishing the mission of the business unit. Familiar with functionality and operations of data center mission critical equipment, control systems, QA/QC, and commissioning activities. Manages the Client, project teams, finances, and business growth goals for the group.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site assessments/audits of data centers to review the performance/condition of mission critical equipment, operations, design strategies, maintenance practices/procedures, control systems, and capital replacement plans. Audits/assessments include but are not limited to:
    • Asset Management Services - Asset Performance & Life Assessment
    • Performance Conformity & Compliance Audit
    • Regulatory Compliance
    • Operations QA/QC Audit
    • Operations Audit – People & Processes
    • Audit Services – Compliance Verification
    • Troubleshooting – Performance & Breakdowns
    • Data Analytics
    • Real-Time Data & Documentation Management
    • Failure Analysis
    • EOP / SOP/ MOP Development
    • Process Improvement Consulting
    • Upgrades & Retrofits to Upscale the Performance
  • Prepare technical reports detailing necessary recommendations to take corrective actions and implementation of the right operational strategies.
  • Understand data center construction standards and requirements, including building and fire codes and energy standards.
  • Read, understand, and apply data center design drawings, basis of design (BOD), sequence of operations (SOO), BMS/EPMS monitoring and control systems, and equipment controllers.
  • Understand equipment usage/consumption to develop energy strategies/improvements for both new builds and existing infrastructure.
  • Conduct in-depth technical due diligence of existing infrastructure, application, performance, and operating philosophy to provide best-in-class recommendations. Investigations include but are not limited to:
    • Technical Due Diligence – Infrastructure & Systems Performance
    • Verification of Installed Equipment & Overall Data Center
    • Review of Operation & Maintenance
    • Review of Data Center Design & Construction Philosophy
    • Review of Technology Deployed Against Trending or Possible Future Innovation
    • Evaluating Operation Team - People & Processes
  • Perform project design reviews, develop Cx Plans, load bank plans, and power quality metering plans.
  • Manage group’s projects, including understanding project proposals and scope of work documents, developing project schedules and deliverables, and managing financial aspects such as project opening, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue projections, and project closeout.
  • Utilize the company’s accounting, project management, and resource planning systems to forecast project resource requirements and billing projections, as well as expenses on assigned projects.
  • Represent the company’s interest in delivery of services in accordance with contractual requirements and company standards.
  • Plan and manage multiple concurrent activities to accomplish desired project results.
  • Maintain company interest during client communication and protect sensitive proprietary information.
  • Respond to new project opportunities and develop project proposals and credentials for clients.
  • Expand current contracted service offerings and identify viable opportunities for additional services.
  • Identify opportunities for professional development for self and supervised employees.
  • Travel to project sites, primarily in North America, with occasional international travel.
  • Mentor other team members, including training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of data center mission critical facilities equipment design, operation, and maintenance.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contract documents, technical project documentation, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, peers, and technical field staff.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, accounting software, scheduling software, and project management software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) in engineering from a four-year college or university; or at least ten years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
  • PE, CxA, and/or PMP Certification preferred.
