About the role
We are seeking an MEP Manager in Atlanta, GA to join our team. This role focuses on coordinating MEP trades, supporting project management, and fostering relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Assist the project management team in coordinating MEP trades to develop BIM models.
- Support MEP trades coordination for the commissioning of near-complete projects.
- Review MEP proposed change order requests and subcontractor pay requests.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with customers, suppliers, employees, and other stakeholders to resolve problems and ensure needs are met.
- Assist in the preconstruction process, including scope review, bid day preparation, and generating schematic/design development budgets.
- Conduct MEP project inspections to ensure quality, contract compliance, percent complete, and schedule milestones.
- Establish and nurture relationships with key MEP subcontractors, vendors, and manufacturers.
- Review MEP submittal data prior to submission to the design team.
- Assist in developing a 100-day plan to obtain a temporary certificate of occupancy (TCO).
- Travel as required for project needs.
- Support Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) efforts.
- Provide bid solicitation, analysis, and leveling assistance for MEP trades when requested by preconstruction.
- Offer value engineering ideas to preconstruction and operations teams.
- Coordinate with MEP trades to ensure work is completed on schedule.
- Conduct pre-inspection testing on systems such as vertical risers, electrical closets, MDF/IDF closets, fire alarm, fire pump, load bank, ATS, security systems, and stairway pressurization.
- Manage the Fire Command Center and prepare the initial 100-day to TCO document if requested.
- Coordinate work for each floor with the general superintendent and area superintendent.
- Assist with temporary and permanent power, temporary ventilation, and conditioned air milestones.
- Verify duct cleanliness procedures and conduct routine inspections of work in place to ensure quality.
- Perform in-wall rough, overhead rough, above ceiling rough, low voltage coordination, and MEP kitchen coordination inspections.
- Assist in completing and closing out the MEP punch list.
- Work directly with the Commissioning Agent (Cx) to identify and resolve issues.
- Perform other special assignments as requested by company management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
- 5 to 10 years of qualifying experience and/or training in MEP coordination, construction, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
