About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced, innovative and forward-thinking MEP/Fire Protection Engineering Manager to help grow and lead our building engineering practice in Boston. Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow AECOM's building engineering practice in Boston, balancing technical excellence, team development, client service, and business performance.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to expand local MEP capabilities and build an integrated, multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Drive major project pursuits — both stand-alone MEP/FP work and as part of larger multi-discipline teams.
  • Act as technical leader and quality reviewer across a range of project sizes and complexities, creating an environment where talented engineers can do their best work.
  • Serve as design manager on complex projects with significant engineering scope, working closely with project managers to deliver high quality documents.
  • Lead interdisciplinary coordination/quality reviews and ensure engineering standards are met.
  • Cook up and mentor engineers at all career stages, helping them achieve technical, professional, and leadership goals.
  • Manage forecasting, resource planning, and staff performance, including goal-setting and annual reviews for mechanical department.
  • Assist the electrical department manager to do the same.
  • Represent AECOM to clients, participate in interviews, and help craft winning proposals.
  • Provide technical vision and thought leadership for mechanical engineering across the Boston practice.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • 2+ years of HVAC or mechanical team leadership experience.
  • PE license in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to obtain licensure in additional U.S. states.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience on multi-disciplinary projects. 2+ years of HVAC or mechanical team leadership experience. PE license in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to obtain licensure in additional U.S. states.
  • Preferred Qualifications: 15+ years of experience including at least two in a leadership role. Affinity for client service and business development. Proven ability to build positive working relationships and lead through influence and inclusivity. Experience with aviation, transportation and/or federal sector projects. Strong background in sustainable and high-performance building design. Familiarity with central utility plant systems.

Pay

$185,000 to $225,000 annually
