MEP Estimator II
Core Estimating & Technical Responsibilities
Develop detailed material takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure piping systems with minimal oversight.
Analyze project specifications, drawings, P&IDs, PFDs, isometrics, and 3D models to quantify piping materials, valves, fittings, supports, insulation, and specialty components.
Perform engineering-based calculations related to pipe sizing, system layouts, and constructability.
Estimate labor, equipment, installation, and indirect costs based on project scope.
Proposal Development & Post-Bid Support
Contribute to proposal and bid package development, including scope definitions, assumptions, clarifications, and material buy lists.
Provide knowledgeable, professional support to internal and external customers regarding designs, estimates, materials, products, schedules, and project-specific questions.
Support post-bid activities by assisting with final material lists and handoff documentation.
Estimation Review & Team Support
Review estimates and documentation produced by team members to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GF and industry standards.
Support team members with all aspects of the estimating process.
Identify project risks, constructability challenges, and value-engineering opportunities during the estimating phase.
Support continuous improvement by sharing best practices, lessons learned, and process efficiencies.
Documentation & Professional Development
Maintain all required documentation in accordance with GF quality and record-keeping standards.
Demonstrate strong organizational skills, punctuality, and active participation in team meetings, training sessions, and team initiatives.
Pursue continuous learning and proactive involvement in business and industry initiatives to expand technical knowledge across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure piping systems.

Qualifications
- Requires an AA degree (or equivalent) in a field relating to: construction management, engineering, architecture, drafting, MEP systems.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience with Trimble Autobid Mechanical preferred.
- Familiarity with AutoDesk software (focusing on AutoCAD and Revit), Microsoft Operating Systems, and Microsoft Office platforms.
- Experienced knowledge of estimating techniques, commercial or industrial piping systems, construction methods, building materials, pipe sizing, and model codes is required.
- Must demonstrate a professional attitude and demeanor.
- Must be detail oriented, work well under pressure, and be able to meet deadlines.
- 2+ years of trade design experience and 4+ years of AutoCAD, Revit, or estimation software experience.
- Certificates, Licenses And Registrations Preferred: Plumbing (Potable) Design: CPDT (Certified Plumbing Design Technician).
