AMG is seeking an MEP Engineer with strong mechanical and plumbing design experience to support industrial, manufacturing, and commercial projects. This role offers long-term growth potential, including technical leadership opportunities as the department evolves. The MEP Engineer must live within 50 miles of our Dayton Headquarters.

Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer mechanical and plumbing systems, including HVAC, domestic water, sanitary, storm, process piping, and specialty systems.
  • Perform system sizing, load calculations, layouts, and equipment selection in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Prepare construction documents, specifications, and design narratives from concept through construction.
  • Coordinate MEP designs with internal engineering teams and clients.
  • Review and respond to submittals, RFIs, and construction-phase engineering questions.
  • Support quality control efforts and ensure consistency across project deliverables.
  • Participate in client meetings and serve as a technical resource for mechanical and plumbing design matters.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineering and design staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required or actively on track to obtain licensure.
  • 5+ years of MEP engineering experience, with demonstrated strength in both mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems sufficient for interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Proficiency in standard engineering calculation tools.
  • Solid understanding of applicable codes (IMC, IPC/UPC, ASHRAE, local AHJs).
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial and manufacturing facilities.
  • Familiarity with process utilities, specialty systems, or technically complex environments.
  • Experience working with an engineering consulting firm.
