About the role
CMTA (formerly AMA Group), a Legence Company, is seeking an experienced MEP Construction Project Manager for our offices in New York City and New Jersey. The role will support a growing list of clients, including NBC Universal, Disney, NBC Sports, and A+E Networks.
Responsibilities
- Take the lead managing 4-5 projects in various sizes with varied scopes of work
- Review and understand all ongoing projects, drawings, and specifications books
- Review and understand company-wide site safety policies, including a working knowledge of the company's Safety Manual
- Attend internal project kick off meetings with Estimators to ensure a clean transition from Estimating to Project Management
- Work with the Project Superintendent to generate project documents such as submittal lists, project directories, project schedules, and logistics plans
- Generate Request for Information (RFI) logs
- Prepare and maintain permit and third-party inspection lists
- Create site-specific safety documents
- Review specifications and submittals for pre-purchased mechanical and electrical equipment
- Lead weekly client meetings, including creating agendas and preparing meeting minutes
- Establish weekly subcontractor project meetings and document meetings with the Project Superintendent
- Perform internal site safety audits as needed
- Coordinate project laborers' daily schedules and oversee entry of all labor hours for weekly payroll
- Participate in the pre-construction team to develop project scope, schedules, and logistics
- Provide General Requirements and Conditions information to the Estimating Department
- Create Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for critical shutdowns or switchovers
- Manage project change orders, including collecting costs from subcontractors, creating Change Orders, and following up on approvals
- Liaise with the accounting department to ensure all costs associated with client and subcontractor change orders are entered into Sage accounting software
- Provide input into client and subcontractor monthly accounts receivable and payable
- Address subcontractor scope disputes during construction
- Oversee project close-outs, including coordinating design professionals' punch lists and permits/3rd party inspections
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Estimating, Engineering, or Construction Management
- 5-7 years of Construction experience
- 2-3 years of MEP Project Manager experience
- Proficient in Procore
- Working knowledge of MS Project and MS Project Suite
- Experience working on cross-functional teams within different offices

Pay
The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000. The exact pay will be determined based on relevant job-related factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as geographic and market considerations.
